Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui learning obstacle siswa SMP pada materi volume kubus dan balok. partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMPS Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak dan satu orang guru mata pelajaran matematika. metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang merupakan bagian dari didactical desuign research (DDR) dengan paradigma interpretif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan diagnostic test dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu ditemukannya ontogenic psychological, epistemological consept, epistemological procedure, epistemological operational technique, dan didactical obstacle
